Good morning, KIPPsters!
What a few weeks it's been! Between gearing up for testing, taking the STAAR Test, and my trip to Vietnam, we have been way too busy living our best lives to even keep up with our newsletter! Time for a quick recap!

What we've been up to:
In the last several weeks, students have been finishing up several of their projects from our Illusions unit. They're created some masterpieces of tricky imagery and masterful illusion. We have also completed a mini-unit on organic & geometric shapes and tessellations. Several students are wrapping up these projects this week before we move onto our final unit.
What's coming up:
In the last few weeks of the semester, students are going to complete a short unit on Social Impact. The purpose of this unit is to contextualize some of the key elements of art that we have learned this year (color theory, mood, contrast, and technique) in a concrete way, looking at how masterful art can impact a community or society. Students will study different forms of public art and get the chance to create their own mural. At the same time, Art Club will be wrapping up our very own mural here in the halls of KIPP: Prime. Stay tuned for pictures (of course!).
