First of all, my apologies for the late Newsletter. We turned in our first major project last week and we all had our hands full with finishing up our amazing comics!

What we've been up to:

Watercolor Stained-Glass Piece

Last week, we started a new module on Painting and Color. Our Prime Artists have been really stoked to try watercolor pencils. They've created some beautiful stained-glass watercolor masterpieces, and in the process, learned about the watercolor medium and the process of creating a gradient. Later this week, we'll be learning about the color wheel and color theory! Looking ahead, we'll be starting our second major project (with watercolor) soon!

Where we're headed:

This week is Benchmark Testing! Our Prime Artists are going to show what they can do in Math and Reading on their tests this Tuesday and Wednesday.

Thursday is a half day for students! (Dismissal at 12:00 PM.) Friday is no school! :)

Next week is Spirit Week! Students who have been living our Prime T.I.M.E. values every day will have the chance to dress up all week long to celebrate being a KIPPster! The themed days are as follows:

Monday - Twin Day

Tuesday - Halloween Costume Day (no blood, weapons, or scary costumes!)

Wednesday - Wacky Tacky Day

Thursday - Throwback Thursday (80's themed!)

Friday - Color Wars! (Wear as much blue as you can manage!)

Friday night is the Fall Dance from 6:00 - 8:00 PM. Admission is free, and concessions will be sold inside to benefit future KIPP Prime activities!

That's all for now! Stay tuned to see some colorful works of art coming your way soon!

It's Prime T.I.M.E.!
