Welcome back (again), KIPPsters! It really is great to be back. I, for one, am so excited to start getting everything back to normal.
What we've been up to:
Even though the start of our school year was disrupted, I'm happy and proud to say that our KIPPsters came back strong in their (second) first week of school! In art class this past week, we've been focusing on the positive and constant in our lives by creating Name Glyphs! In this activity, students created pictures of trees. How their tree looked depended on unique aspects of their lives, like their favorite subject in school, the members of their family, their hobbies, etc. It was great to get to know some of my Prime Artists a little bit more!
Check out our class galleries (under the "Classes" tab) for awesome examples of student work!
Where we're headed:
This week is a little bit unusual! on Tuesday and Thursday, students will be taking the MAP test for Math and Reading. For more information on the MAP test, click here.
Wednesday is an early dismissal, as well as picture day! Students will be dismissed at 12 PM.
And lastly, we have OPEN HOUSE this week!
5th graders and their families are invited to come meet their teachers and tour the classrooms on Tuesday, Sept. 19th, from 6:30 - 7:00 PM.
6th graders are invited to do the same on Wednesday, Sept. 20th, from 6:30 - 7:00 PM.
Since I teach both grades, I will be at both open houses!
That's all for now! If you're new to the site and this Newsletter, thank you for stopping by! Look out for the next one coming up on Monday, Oct. 2!
It's Prime T.I.M.E.!
